Very delighted and happy because of the fact that I still can do boxes one-and-a-half-handed. Thank God.

Those are some lovely dovetails.
So did I miss something? What happened to your hand?

Remember I told you that I now can't easily watch other people dealing with power tools? see artkouros comments

Also, since you like dovetails so much, here's a few shots from making them

I love dovetails. The whole thing: making them, marking them, all of it.
Good work!

Thanks, man. I like them a lot, though precise dovetails are almost a surgery :) That's why where it's acceptable I tend to do dovels or false-dovels:

I've done some of those in my time, as well. You were doing a bunch of stuff with glued pegs -- like the peg as the structural element, weren't you?

See, these are the true dovel peg joints I've done:

knife box, case, pen box as well as strengthening corners on a fairly big picframes.

But sometimes I use false-dovels - I don't know the real name for that joint that I sketched earlier up above - and that holds the two pieces mainly on the screwed thread. I usually apply false-dovel when I don't wanna set clamps or don't have such big clamps. So the screw actually work as a clamp and also mechanical joint afterwards. But It looks ugly inside the wood 'meat' and so I hide it with a piece of a dovel.

I think that's sometimes called a pocket fastening. I know that's what it's called when they're at a low angle:

See! At such angle you can't really put a dovel to cover up holes. It's kinda difficult to do that sharp. That's why they tend to leave it uncovered saying 'it's beautiful' :) I should probably ask Steve Ramsey (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBB7sYb14uBtk8UqSQYc9-w) or April Wilkerson (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4v2tQ8GqP0RbmAzhp4IFkQ) about exact name for what I do -- they're pocket holes maniacs :) Or Jimmy Diresta -- he actually loves to hide threaded bolts with a piece of peg (see for example his fabulous bench - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DodzCJLny2E)

I love the curves on it at 10:47. Man I wish I had the time to do more stuff like that... although I love the stuff I'm doing, too.

I enjoyed the work you've done on house remodelling. Especially with the kitchen.

Depressingly overwhelmed with it-has-to-be-done, so no time for stuff I want to do. Some day, maybe...

This dude is even more a pocket hole maniac - Jay Bates - look here, his automated pocket hole machine makes me exhausted of non-stopping laughter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y3H3AoL-yY&list=UU-7XY-W_C84cW2MNqujgFpg

He's a lunatic. No I respect him, I just can't stop laughing.
